This incredibly cute town is 5x cuter because of this motel! Theres a clean, modern feeling layered over that classic motel vibe that you desire when road tripping. I can even see the Great Lake from our bedroom window! What a gorgeous treat! Sleep here and be happy for the first time in forever

We were very happy with our stay at the Dunes Motel. We had our doubts based on the pictures, but our room (#2) was comfortable, clean, and convenient. The kitchen and bathroom was a walk down memory lane as we were reminded of things our grandparents had. So yes, outdated, but the price was great. The motel is walking distance to everything, which we had not expected. The owner, who just bought the place, was incredibly friendly. She has her work cut out for her, but that’s ok because even with things as they are now, it’s a fine place to stay if you give it a chance. The only thing I would ask of them is to not use Pine Sol when they clean because it’s a strong smell and I had to re-wash the floors (which were very clean) with vinegar and water to get rid of the chemical smell of the cleanser.

Best place to stay in GM! The new owners are great and extremely accommodating. Pet friendly and reasonably priced. Will continue to stay at the Dunes when I’m in the area.

For the location and price your getting exactly what you paid for. Not a 5 star hotel but if you want that you can pay for it elsewhere. Rooms where warm beds where comfortable, shower left a bit to be desired but the water was hot and pressure was good. Great place for a night or two of stay if you plan on being out most of the day.

Nice, clean, and comfortable. Has a Roku TV and free wifi. Outdated, sure, but only an issue for the most high maintenance of guests.

Loved this place!! Room had everything we needed, plenty of space for suitcases, travel bags, etc. has a coffee maker, microwave and small fridge. Super clean!! Bed was comfortable. If you’re like us and prefer small, family owned places, this is definitely for you! Literally a stones throw to town and the expansive beach. The owner Kari, is just sweet as can be! We actually extended our stay and are already looking forward to returning.
